Synopsis

The Short: In the first of a four part series Angel comes face-to-face with the consequences of his night of passion when Darla arrives on his doorstep inexplicably pregnant. While Angel tortures himself over the decision whether or not to destroy the demon seed, the gang uncovers a prophecy that predicts the arrival of a great evil which will bring about the ruination of mankind.

1. Rome - 1771
   Rome is the capital and largest city of Italy. It is on the Tiber and seat of the Roman Catholic Church. Rome is formerly the capital of the Roman Republic and the Roman Empire.

   Holtz: ''Michelangelo?''
   Angelus: ''Not him. She's mad about Botticelli's frescos. The Temptation of Christ is her favorite, probably because of the leper.''
   The Sistine Chapel is in Vatican City. Built between 1475 and 1483, in the time of Pope Sixtus IV della Rovere, the Sistine Chapel has originally served as Palatine Chapel. The chapel is rectangular in shape and measures 40.93 meters long by 13.41 meters wide, i.e. the exact dimensions of the Temple of Solomon, as given in the Old Testament. It is 20.70 meters high and is roofed by a flattened barrel vault, with little side vaults over the centered windows.
   Michelangelo is Michelangelo was born on March 6, 1475. His full name was Michelangelo Buonarroti. He had a very aristocratic family and from an early age his parents tried desperately to quash his dreams of becoming an artist. Primarily a sculptor, Michelangelo was asked in 1508 to paint the ceiling frescoes of the Sistine Chapel. The work was completed in 1512.
   Sandro Botticelli reached his fame as an artist in 1478 and was called to Rome in 1480 along with Cosimo Rosselli, Perugino, and Ghirlandio to paint stories from the lives of Moses and Christ on the walls of the Sistine Chapel. (Thanks to Melissa Evans for this information.)

   G.H.B. stands for Gamma Hydroxybutyrate. Rohypnol is a trademark used for the drug flunitrazepam, a powerful sedative drug, C16H12FN3O3, that is illegal in the United States but is used elsewhere as a hypnotic and in anesthesia. It is popularly known as the “date rape” drug because its ability to cause semiconsciousness and memory blackouts has led to its association with unwanted sexual encounters.

   Guise Will Be Guise - Wesley and Cordelia explain how the host reads people.
   Judgement - The host of Caritas sings with Liz.
   Disharmony - Cordelia worries what would have happaned if he had had sex with Darla. Angel says she knows that wouldn't happen.
   Reprise - Angel pushes Darla around, then they have sex. Angel wakes up.
   Epiphany - Angel kicks Darla out and tells her if he ever sees her again he will kill her.
   That Vision Thing - The shaman says no man can help Darla. She decides to go visit daddy.
   
   
2. Wesley: ''I believe Fred's been through enough recently without people shouting at her.''
   Billy - Wesley is probably refering to last episode where he fell under the influence of the demon Billy Blim and attacked Fred.
   
   
3. Wesley: ''There was another prophecy a while back. It seemed to be about Angel and contained the word Shanshu which I thought meant to die and I, sort of told Angel...''
   To Shanshu In L.A. - Wesley had troubles translating the Prophecies of Obersian.
